WHAT KIND OF ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE?
MTIP clients work with knowledgeable, experienced technology coaches. The role of the coach is to assess the status of each technology in terms of (a) stage of development, (b) commitment and determination of the client, and (c) the technical, business, and financial resources available for pushing the technology forward. MTIP's services are provided at no cost to the client and include guidance in the following areas:
- Identifying and assessing potential funding opportunities
- Confidential, individualized coaching in proposal development and submission, including help in understanding the proposal requirements, outlining the proposal, crafting the best possible presentation, and budgeting
- In-depth assistance in understanding the complex issues involving intellectual property, federal grant and project contracts, and government accounting
- Assistance with detailed commercialization planning including an understanding of the market research needed to support the proposed commercialization approach.
- Identifying and accessing sources of technologies available for licensing
- Guidance in understanding what other resources are available to technology businesses, both in Montana and at the regional and national levels
